Il existe deux familles de virages\u00a0: \u00e0 plat et en d\u00e9vers, et ces deux types de virages requi\u00e8rent des habilet\u00e9s diff\u00e9rentes. Dans un virage, la force centrifuge pousse le cycliste vers l\u2019ext\u00e9rieur. Plus il est long, plus le virage sera pris \u00e0 grande vitesse. Si par contre la vitesse n\u2019est pas suffisante pour faire un virage ayant un grand rayon, il faudra y int\u00e9grer des rouleaux (\u00e0 l\u2019entr\u00e9e et \u00e0 la sortie) pour que le cycliste puisse maintenir la vitesse en \u00ab\u00a0pompant\u00a0\u00bb le v\u00e9lo.<\/p>\n<p>Un rayon de 4\u00a0m (diam\u00e8tre de 8\u00a0m) est optimal pour un usage g\u00e9n\u00e9ral, pour tous calibres et tous types de v\u00e9los, et accommodera les autres usagers (trottinettes, planches \u00e0 roulettes, patins \u00e0 roulettes). Plus le rayon du virage est serr\u00e9 ou la vitesse d\u2019entr\u00e9e est \u00e9lev\u00e9e, plus le talus (la surface de roulement) doit offrir un appui vertical pour contrer la force centrifuge qui autrement ferait d\u00e9raper le cycliste hors du virage.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Le virage en d\u00e9vers n\u00e9cessite de pencher le v\u00e9lo dans la courbe pour atteindre une vitesse \u00e9lev\u00e9e, sans quoi le cycliste peut basculer \u00e0 l\u2019ext\u00e9rieur de la courbe;<\/li>\n<li>Il n\u00e9cessite de maintenir une vitesse suffisamment \u00e9lev\u00e9e pour ne pas d\u00e9raper vers le bas du d\u00e9vers;<\/li>\n<li>Pour ces raisons, le virage avec d\u00e9vers est plus intimidant pour les d\u00e9butants;<\/li>\n<li>Le talus du virage peut \u00eatre tronqu\u00e9 en sortie de courbe. La trajectoire se poursuit de fa\u00e7on a\u00e9rienne \u00e0 la fin du virage pour rejoindre la zone de r\u00e9ception, comme pour un saut. Le talus doit \u00eatre assez relev\u00e9 et la fin du virage doit \u00eatre trait\u00e9e comme la zone d\u2019\u00e9lan d\u2019un saut. Ceci repr\u00e9sente une option plus difficile (barri\u00e8re mentale);<\/li>\n<li>Dans un virage en d\u00e9vers, le cycliste s\u2019appuie de tout son poids contre le virage (en demeurant perpendiculaire \u00e0 la surface de roulement).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][vc_single_image media=\u00a0\u00bb973&Prime; media_width_percent=\u00a0\u00bb100&Prime;][vc_column_text]<strong>Virage en d\u00e9vers (en terre)<\/strong><br \/>\n<em>Mont Rigaud<\/em>[\/vc_column_text][vc_single_image media=\u00a0\u00bb878&Prime; media_width_percent=\u00a0\u00bb100&Prime;][vc_column_text]<strong>Virage en d\u00e9vers (en bois, tronqu\u00e9)<\/strong><br \/>\n<em>Pentes 40-80, Sainte-Ad\u00e8le \u2013 Francis T\u00e9trault<\/em>[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space empty_h=\u00a0\u00bb2&Prime;][vc_column_text border_color=\u00a0\u00bbcolor-193714&Prime; border_style=\u00a0\u00bbsolid\u00a0\u00bb css=\u00a0\u00bb.vc_custom_1536947505153{border-top-width: 10px !important;border-right-width: 10px !important;border-bottom-width: 10px !important;border-left-width: 10px !important;padding-top: 10px !important;padding-right: 10px !important;padding-bottom: 10px !important;padding-left: 10px !important;}\u00a0\u00bb]<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff\"><strong>IMPORTANT :\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><span style=\"color: #0000ff\">Pour les virages en d\u00e9vers recouverts d\u2019une surface de roulement d\u2019asphalte,\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: #0000ff\">faire d\u00e9border l\u2019asphalte sur le haut du talus.\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: #0000ff\">Ceci permet d\u2019adoucir l\u2019ar\u00eate de la surface de roulement\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: #0000ff\">(\u00e9viter les angles francs), de pr\u00e9venir l\u2019effritement du haut du virage et d\u2019emp\u00eacher l\u2019eau de s\u2019infiltrer derri\u00e8re la surface de roulement du virage, ce qui entra\u00eenerait \u00e0 l\u2019hiver un gonflement susceptible de d\u00e9former la piste, n\u00e9cessitant alors des r\u00e9parations.<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space empty_h=\u00a0\u00bb2&Prime;][vc_column_text]<strong>Conception<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Pr\u00e9voir une bande de roulement peu pentue \u2013 donc moins intimidante \u2013 \u00e0 l\u2019int\u00e9rieur du virage pour les d\u00e9butants ou en cas de perte de vitesse ou de contr\u00f4le;<\/li>\n<li>Lors de la construction, mettre en place la forme g\u00e9n\u00e9rale du talus par couches minces compact\u00e9es. Puis y creuser la forme finale du virage (rayon horizontal et d\u00e9vers) et compacter la surface de roulement;<\/li>\n<li>Les cyclistes avanc\u00e9s ont tendance \u00e0 aller s\u2019appuyer sur la partie haute des virages relev\u00e9s. Ainsi, la partie sup\u00e9rieure doit \u00e9galement \u00eatre bien compact\u00e9e pour soutenir la force lat\u00e9rale. Elle devra donc \u00eatre soutenue \u00e0 l\u2019arri\u00e8re. On peut y arriver en\n<ul>\n<li>am\u00e9nageant deux courbes appuy\u00e9es l\u2019une sur l\u2019autre (en gardant au minimum 50\u00a0cm de surface plate entre la partie sup\u00e9rieure des virages, et ce, pour \u00e9viter l\u2019affaissement),<\/li>\n<li>\u00e9largissant le talus d\u2019au moins 50\u00a0cm \u00e0 l\u2019arri\u00e8re du virage pour \u00e9viter l\u2019affaissement (voir le sch\u00e9ma 2),<\/li>\n<li>appuyant le virage sur un muret de pierre (qui permet de diminuer l\u2019emprise au sol);<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Si le rayon de la courbe est grand, il sera difficile de maintenir la vitesse d\u2019entr\u00e9e et le rythme de la piste. Pour y rem\u00e9dier, il faudra ajouter un rouleau \u00e0 l\u2019entr\u00e9e et un autre \u00e0 la sortie du virage pour pouvoir g\u00e9n\u00e9rer de la vitesse en \u00ab\u00a0pompant\u00a0\u00bb le v\u00e9lo.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][vc_single_image media=\u00a0\u00bb1553&Prime;
